Jeremy Renner, better known as Hawkeye from Marvel's "The Avengers" and star of "The Bourne Legacy" is asking for fan's help in finding his one-year-old French Bulldgo Hemi by offering a $5,000 reward for anyone who finds the family pet and returns it safely.

The family made a Facebook page devoted to Hemi's safe return providing details of the dog and ways for people to make sure he finds his way home. Hemi was in the back yard of the Renner house in Los Angeles, near Runyon Canyon, on July 19 when a power failure caused the gate to open slightly, the dog escaped and has been missing ever since. At the time of his escape he was wearing a collar but not any identification tags. He is also not micro chipped. The dog weights approximately 25 pounds, is tan with a mostly black face.

Perhaps the most tragic part of this story is that Hemi requires daily medication for a hip condition. In order to spot the dog, the family says he may have developed a limp or stiffness in his leg by now. The family says the $5,000 reward will go to anyone who ensures the dog's safe trip home "no questions asked."

The dog's family immediately put up flyers and canvassed the area surrounding their home, says E-Online. Renner has listed the dog on Craigslist and the actor is checking shelters regularly.

Renner suffered the loss of a pet earlier this year when his other French bulldog, Franklin died. The eight-month-old suffered a heart attack caused by overheating in March of 2012.

Anyone interested in helping in the search for Hemi should visit the Facebook page for more information. If you see the French bulldog in the L.A. area, everyone is highly encouraged to call (310)954-9126 as soon as possible or e-mail sarah@ninjadogconcepts.com. All others in the area are asked to remain on the lookout. Any who can return the dog to her family will receive the reward with no questions asked.
