This brave goose proved to the world that mothers will do anything to protect their babies.

A mother goose's nest filled with eggs was intentionally set on fire recently with cigarette butts, but she refused to leave her unhatched children behind, The Dodo reported

When help arrived to douse the flames, the goose refused to move away from her eggs and leave them alone in harm's way.

"She probably would have sat there until she was deceased," Tim White, the wildlife specialist who first spotted the fire, told The Dodo.

The mother goose and eggs were brought to the Back To The Wild animal clinic for rehabilitation. The mother goose is healing from some burnt feathers, but she's otherwise okay. The clinic staff told The Dodo that it's unlikely that the eggs will hatch healthy babies, but they are doing all they can to help - especially since the mother was so determined to keep them safe.

Everyone is on the heroic goose's side and are doing what they can to hopefully introduce her to her babies that she risked her life protecting.
