The Met Gala may have banned the use of phones for photography and social media, but that didn't stop celebrities from posting selfies from the event.
All guests attending the gala reportedly received a notice stating "The use of phones for photography and social media will not be permitted inside the gala."
A source close to Vogue, who was exclusively covering the event, told
">Hollywood Reporter that the rule "has solely to do with guests' security and enjoyment of the event."
Others speculated that the new rule is related to a documentary being filmed at the gala based on the night's theme - "China: Through the Looking Glass."
