A strained left hamstring didn't stop Clippers star Chris Paul from banking in the game-winning shot with a second remaining in Saturday's 111-109 win against San Antonio. Unfortunately for Paul, that hamstring injury may force him to miss Game 1 against Houston.

"My guess right now if I had to guess, I would say no," coach Doc Rivers told the Associated Press when asked if Paul would play Monday. "But I'm not sure."

For his part, Paul, who finished Saturday's Game 7 with 27 points, is hoping for a little from above.

"I'm going to get with our training staff and ... I know my grandmother back in North Carolina is praying right now," Paul said. "She's praying, and she'll let my mom pray over it and all that too, and it will be all right."

Houston, meanwhile, will be well rested for Monday. The Rockets defeated Dallas on Tuesday in Game 5, giving themselves almost a week of rest compared to Los Angeles' 48-hour turnaround.

"It's been good to have our rest -- (Monday's) going to be a big game for us, especially with our energy," said Rockets star James Harden. "They're coming off a really tough Game 7. So we just have to do a really good job of coming out here with energy, making sure we're playing well on both ends of the floor."
