The closer it gets to the return of the hit Showtime espionage-thriller "Homeland" the more details are being revealed. Recently star actors Damien Lewis, who plays Nicholas Brody, and Claire Danes, who plays Carrie Mathison, spilled some more secrets about what viewers can expect see in season three.

The question all fans are wondering is 'Where is Brody?' Season two of "Homeland" ended with Brody being framed for the bombing of the CIA headquarters by an Islamic terrorist group and Carrie, a troubled CIA agent, helping him escape the county.

At the Television Critics Association in Beverly Hills, Lewis revealed that the Marine and spy would not be returning for the first two episodes of the third season, the Daily Mail reports.

"He's disappeared into a tunnel and exfiltration system that Carrie has effected," Lewis said at the event.

Producer Alex Gansa confirmed that Brody wouldn't be seen for the first two episodes but would not reveal when viewers could expect to see the character return. Promo teasers that have been released show Brody with a shaved head in a foreign county; many people are assuming he's hiding out in Venezuela.

According to the Daily Mail, the new season begins 200 days after Brody was last seen and a lot has happened. Danes revealed that her character has stopped taking her medication during that time and is having a really difficult time adjusting to life knowing that Brody is no longer around.

Fans already know from previous seasons that Carrie not taking her medication is probably not the best way for the CIA agent to cope.

"It's pretty bleak in the beginning, [Carrie's] gone off her meds for all sorts of reasons, which she believes strongly in," Danes said at the event. "Carrie is always sitting on her own personal ticking bomb, and it's just an impossible dilemma. She's not great on the meds and she's even worse of them, but there's a really great spot in the middle of those two spots that she's always trying to land on."

If fans are wondering if Carrie and Brody will ever see each other, there's a strong possibility that they could. Gansa hinted that there was still more "story to tell" between the two characters. What that story is still remains a mystery but the first official trailer for season three could hold a clue.

In the 30-second clip you hear Brody telling someone that he just needs to get his strength back and he also asks if Carrie knows where he's at. Sounds like Brody could have a few tricks up his sleeve for season three.
