Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are hoping a new baby can bring some peace and tranquility to their rocky marriage.

The couple is reportedly expecting their fifth child together since marrying in May 2006, according to OK! Magazine (via HollywoodLife).

"This isn't something that was planned; it was a shock," an insider told OK! "But we are hearing that Tori is in her first trimester, and she's really excited about it. She was nervous about telling Dean, but he was happy also. They've been through a lot - honestly, no one thought they'd make it, but they've proved everyone wrong - and this is good news for them.

Spelling and McDermott will have their hands full while they prepare for another kid. The couple already has two sons and two daughters: 8-year-old Liam Aaron, 6-year-old Stella Doreen, 3-year-old Hattie Margaret and 2-year-old Finn Davey.

McDermott also has stepped up to take care of his wife's every need during her pregnancy. The actor knows his way around the kitchen and a good massage.

"He's waiting on her hand and foot and listening to all her concerns, even if sometimes he thinks she's being over the top," the insider said. "He's been massaging her feet, cooking her dinner and looking after the kids. He wants her to feel special and not get stressed out."

The celebrity dad showed off his cooking skills on "Today" on Tuesday morning. He also explained that he's done with broadcasting his marriage on television.

"I don't want to do the relationship stuff. Sorting out your problems in the town square is not the way to go about it," McDermott said.

He referred to the couple's Lifetime series, "True Tori," as a "great learning experience" that magnified the problems Spelling and McDermott were having in their relationship.
