New mom Jill (Duggar) Dillard is receiving a lot of Internet backlash after "incorrectly" carrying her son Israel in a baby sling.
The Facebook page "Duggar Family News: Life is not all peaches and hairspray" posted a picture Saturday of Jill holding Israel in a baby sling that hangs so low that it's nearly at her waist.
Commenters on the picture quickly pointed out that Duggar was holding Israel too low, suggesting that she could be "suffocating" the baby.
It's typically recommended by experts for parents to carry their baby near their chest so they can monitor the baby's breathing.
"With the ring sling you can carry the baby on your front, on your hip and on the back," says WearABaby.com. "We strongly recommend always to carry the baby in an upright position. In the upright position your baby can breath easily and you can monitor her wellbeing at all times."
