Colin Farrell is experiencing a dry spell in the dating business - but there's a good reason.

In an interview with the UK's Sunday Times, the 38-year-old Irish actor opened up about being single for four years and reveals the "honest truth" about his relationship with women. Farrell says that he has not been romantically involved with a woman since splitting from his ex-wife Alicja Bachleda in 2010.

"I have not dated for four years now," he told The Sunday Times (via E! News). "It's just not happening, what with the work, the kids and my life. I know it's not what people expect to hear, but that's the honest truth."

The actor, who is a father of two boys - 11-year-old James and 5-year-old Henry - also shared that not dating removes the unnecessary pressures from his life. The once-notorious playboy has been linked to Demi Moore and Lindsay Lohan.

"It's not all about you anymore, which is a relief," the actor added. "It's about a bigger world, and helping them find their place in it. It's not about 'me, me, me, the loudmouth' any more - and that takes the pressure off me to live up to those old expectations... I have two boys that I'm so happy with and I adore."

Farrell is currently working the new season of HBO's "True Detective" alongside Vince Vaughn and Rachel McAdams.
