If any fans were still confused about Spider-Man's place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the new rumored title should clear things up pretty quickly.

Latino Review shared a rumor that the new title will be "Spider-Man: The New Avenger." This is obviously more on the nose than the previous rumored title, "Spectacular Spider-Man."

But this new title does make sense as it would solidify the web-head's place in the MCU by aligning him with the insanely successful, box office record breaking "Avengers" series. It also shadows the first Captain America subtitle, "The First Avenger," which is a nice touch if I do say so myself.

Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has said that this reboot will forgo the well-known origin story of Peter Parker and focus more on his life as a high-school teenager. The new series will be co-produced by Sony, but Marvel appears to be the main creative force behind it and, after "The Amazing Spider-Man" franchise, we can all agree that is a good thing.

Drew Goddard, who had been slated to helm the Sinister Six movie and helped bring "Daredevil" to Netflix, is the front-runner to write and direct this new Spidey iteration. Recently, a reported shortlist of actors for the role surfaced and it included: Nat Wolff ("The Fault in Our Stars"), Asa Buttefield ("Ender's Game") Tom Holand ("The Impossible"), Timothee Chalamet ("Interstellar") and Liam James ("The Way, Way Back").

Again, this is an unconfirmed rumor. My guess is that we will know the title in time for the film's July 27, 2017 release.
