After Apple announced the Apple Pay service last November, the tech giant has slowly expanded the service's potential over the months. Not only has it talked to international banks about partnerships, but it's added most American credit cards to the service.

Apple made the final move and added Discover to its new mobile payment service. The credit card service posted a press release on Monday announcing that it was partnering with Apple in a way "that will allow Discover cardmembers in the U.S. to make contact-less payments in participating stores through Apple Pay, the easy, secure and private way to payusing iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch. In addition to paying in stores with iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch, millions of card members can also use Apple Pay with iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 when paying for goods and services within apps beginning this fall," writes Discover's Jon Drummond.

Discover also explained the trust it has put in the security of Apple Pay.

"As the mobile payments landscape matures, Discover remains committed to giving cardmembers secure options for using their cards and mobile devices....Discover's focus on simplicity and value for our cardmembers aligns well with the way Apple Pay makes purchases easy and convenient," Diane Offereins, Discover's president of payment services, says in the press release.

Discover users who place their cards into the Apple Pay system will still receive the benefits and points that they would receive from using the card manually, Discover added.

The addition of Discover to Apple Pay means that the new mobile payment serivce now has partnerships with all of the major credit card companies and can store more than 90 percent of American credit cards in its system, according to Mac Rumors.
