Tesla's website and Twitter account was hacked, as well as CEO Elon Musk's Twitter. At around 5 p.m. on Saturday, a post popped up on Tesla's Twitter account claiming that the company was no longer in control of the account, according to The Verge.

Those claiming responsibility have given a variety of names, but according to Business Insider, it appears to have been one coordinated attack by one group of pranksters.

Since then, both accounts and website have been "returned" to their rightful owners. Hacking has become more prevalent as groups that want to exercise control, play a prank, make a point or cause harm to a company by taking it over from the cyber-guts.
