A woman's decomposing remains were found Friday in an undeveloped wooded area near train tracks about 10 miles from where a 22-year-old Michigan woman vanished from a party last Halloween, the Detroit Free Press reported.

The body was found at around 2 p.m. when the person who owns the rural Monroe County, Mich., property was moving dirt during the construction of a home.

Monroe County sheriffs said they are working to confirm if the skeletal remains are that of Chelsea Bruck, who was reported missing Oct. 26 after disappearing from a crowded Halloween party at a farmhouse the night before.

Police would not comment on the condition of the body, which is believed to have been on the private property for months. Several "No Trespassing" signs are posted in the area.

Investigators were seen walking around the overgrown property in Carleton collecting evidence and loading it into large bags.

"Anything that looks suspicious, we're going to look into and make sure we have it," Deputy Chief Heath Velliquette, of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, told the Detroit Free Press.

Bruck, a waitress, was last seen wearing a Poison Ivy costume at the outdoor party of about 600 people. She had plans to spend the night with her friends, who were also in attendance, but she got separated from them at around 3 a.m. Her friends eventually left when they could not find her.

A search for Bruck, the youngest of five children, included most of Monroe County, Velliquette told the newspaper.

But he isn't sure if the private property where the body was found was included in the search.
