New details emerged this week in the Aaron Hernandez case, along with a surveillance video still of the former New England Patriots star appearing to hold a gun.  The Bristol County district court on Wednesday agreed to unseal additional documents in the Odin Lloyd murder investigation, WCBV.com reports.

Some of the new details to from the unsealed documents include:

-Lloyd's cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds to the torso area; the manner of death was a homicide.  He was shot in the back at least once.  He was shot twice on the ground while lying on his back - one bullet went through his chest, heart, lung, liver and back; another penetrated his chest, lung, ribs and back.  The evidence in the affidavit suggested he was shot a total of five times.

-An unidentified witness places Hernandez at the murder scene the night Lloyd was killed.  The same witness told police he was instructed to remove a firearm from Hernandez's rented vehicle (via WCVB.com).

"An individual whose identity is known to police indicated that Aaron Hernandez, Ernest Wallace and Odin Lloyd were outside the Nissan Altima when Odin Lloyd was killed," the affidavit reads.

"The individual stated that he was instructed by Ernest Wallace to take possession of a firearm that was inside Aaron Hernandez rented Nissan shortly after the homicide of Odin Lloyd," another part of the affidavit reads.

-The unidentified witness is believed to be Carlos Ortiz, who was also arrested in connection to the murder investigation of Lloyd.

-The released warrants link Hernandez to the Nissan Altima and Lloyd's death in several ways: surveillance photos, a shell casing identical to those found around Lloyd's body and similar soil to where Lloyd's body was discovered.

Hernandez is being held without bail.  He pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and five gun-related charges, and he is due back in court on Aug. 22.
