Warning: Possible spoilers for season six of "The Walking Dead."

Fans of "The Walking Dead" may have to say goodbye to their beloved Daryl Dixon.

It was reported earlier this week that Norman Reedus, who portrays Dixon on AMC's hit show, is selling his home in Atlanta. Now, the network has announced the addition of a new recurring character and there is speculation that he might be replacing Dixon.

TV Line first reported the addition of "Delvin," as he is named on the casting notice. Odds are the character's name will be different in the show, but the details TV Line's insider Michael Ausiello has shared are still revealing.

"If the recurring character of Delvin turns out to be half as cool as his casting notice makes him out to be, I have a new hero (and you likely do, too)," Ausiello said. "According to the breakdown for the role, the twentysomething African-American cynic is left so dumbfounded by displays of stupidity that it's nearly impossible for him to admit that he thinks, down deep, people are - or at least can be - decent. Even if they're idiots. (I love him already.)"

So the creators of "The Walking Dead" are adding a character they think can be a fan favorite? Dixon has almost exclusively held that title since he joined the show in the beginning of season one. "Delvin" definitely sounds different from Reedus, though, who has no issue thinking people are decent. At the end of season five, he was more compassionate than almost every other survivor in the group (which isn't saying much, but still).

E! Online also reports that the new character has no patience for stupidity.

"Get ready to meet Delvin," Kristin dos Santos of E! Online said. "He's not angry, he just thinks people can be pretty dumb."

Maybe fans will finally get their wish of Carl meeting his demise, if Delvin truly can't stand dumb people.

The loss of Dixon would no doubt be a massive moment in "The Walking Dead" history, and the most heartbreaking since Beth was killed. Season five did not end with a catastrophic event like past seasons have. Instead, it laid the ground work for a potentially thrilling season six premiere. Will it be Dixon's finale?
