Memphis cruised to a 100-86 victory in Sunday's Game 1, thanks to five players scoring in the double figures and both Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol combining for 31 points and 22 rebounds. Surprisingly enough, though, it was veteran point guard Beno Udrih who turned in a big game with a team-high 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

"Beno gets the game ball," Randolph said, according to ESPN. "With Mike (Conley) being out, helps him get his confidence up and playing."

Even Trail Blazers coach Terry Stotts commended the veteran.

He did a little bit of everything," Stotts said. "He's an NBA player. He's been here a long time, and he's effective."

Udrih brushed off all the praise, instead pointing to the screens set by teammate Kosta Koufos as the reason for his offensive success.

"I was wide open," Udrih said. "Shots like that I've got to take. I knocked down and then two more times I came out of the screen and knocked them down again. I was just being aggressive."

Portland outscored Memphis 24-14 in the fourth quarter but failed to mount a comeback successfully.  LaMarcus Aldridge led with 32 points and 14 rebounds, and Nicolas Batum added 15 points and seven rebounds.
