Golden State built up a big lead over New Orleans in Game 1, but the team had to weather an Anthony Davis-led rally in the fourth quarter.  The Warriors ultimately stood their ground and escaped with a 106-99 victory, thanks in part to 35 points from Warriors star Stephen Curry and 21 points from guard Klay Thompson.

"I was locked in and focused the whole night," Curry told the Associated Press after the win. "In those situations, you want to get the crowd back into it. There's a weird kind of tension, especially in the second half when they made a couple runs. But in the playoffs, you have to expect anything. And whenever you're on the floor, just try to make an impact."

Warriors big men Draymond Green and Andrew Bogut also contributed, combining for 26 boards and scoring 15 and 12 points, respectively.

For the Pelicans, Davis came up huge in the fourth quarter.  He scored 20 of his 35 points in the fourth, helping to cut what was once a 25-point deficit in the third and pull New Orleans to within four points of Golden State in the fourth.  The experienced Warriors, though, wouldn't break.

"I think the whole team was nervous," Davis said. "This is our first time as a unit in the playoffs, and our pace was good. We were moving fast, but our minds were moving fast as well."
