Manchester City have lost four of their past six Premier League matches and could be ousted from Champions League play next season if they fall out of the top four. The club's management is apparently looking to change things up once the transfer window arrives.

The recent struggles have seemingly alarmed those in charge and rumors suggest the club is going to chase Liverpool striker/attacking midfielder Raheem Sterling as well as Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola, according to the Mirror.

There has been much turmoil surrounding Sterling and Liverpool, which began with contract disputes between the two sides. It was said Sterling turned down a deal that would pay him £100,000 per week - as well as a number of other offers - because he's concerned about his role with the team.

The latest issues involved Sterling being filmed inhaling nitrous oxide and photographed smoking a shisha pipe, which concerned manager Brendan Rogers about the 20-year-old's lifestyle off the field.

Perhaps the rumors of Sterling "seeing his future elsewhere" could still be alive.

"Manchester City will launch a £30million-plus bid for Raheem Sterling as soon as the summer transfer window opens," writes John Cross of the Mirror.

"Outgoing champions City are determined to beat off interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United by blowing them away in the race for the Liverpool star.

"They have made England forward Sterling their No1 close-season target and believe they can tempt Liverpool to sell their prize asset after his contract stand-off at Anfield."

While Sterling could begin the overhaul of the team's player personnel, famed Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola may feature the renovation of the coaching staff. Guardiola has Bayern Munich atop the Bundesliga with a comfortable 10-point lead over Wolfsburg.

"Ex-Barcelona coach Guardiola, who has one year left on his contract at Bayern, remains City's No1 target to take over from Manuel Pellegrini, who is under increasing pressure," Cross adds.

"City will look to offload Samir Nasri, Yaya Toure, Bacary Sagna, Jesus Navas, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic to fund a big spending spree."

The club currently sits in fourth place in the Premier League with 61 points following their 4-2 loss to Manchester United over the weekend. They trail Man U by four points, second-place Arsenal by five points, and first-place Chelsea by 12 points.

If City happen to fall out of the top four, the club is almost guaranteed to make major changes once the summer transfer window opens on July 1. Manager Manuel Pellegrini could be the first to go under such circumstances, especially since the club has only five wins in their past 16 matches.
