Bruce Jenner speaks his first words in the new promo for his upcoming interview with Diane Sawyer.

Sawyer will interview Jenner in a special two-hour edition of "20/20" on April 24 to discuss his ongoing transition into a woman. It will be the first time he has spoken publicly about his decision to a major news outlet.

"My whole life has been getting me ready for this," the 65-year-old Jenner says in the promo.

Last month, E! put Jenner's upcoming docu-series on hold in the wake of his fatal car accident. The series was originally scheduled to premiere soon after the 10th season finale of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and will chronicle the former Olympian's transition from a man to a woman.

ABC News has changed the interview to incorporate the February accident that left one woman dead when Jenner's vehicle hit her car and launched it into oncoming traffic on the Pacific Coast Highway.

"Bruce Jenner - The Interview" will air on Friday, April 24 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
