Before the Top 12 contestants performed on Monday night, the coaches reflected on their team choices, the worst part of the show and who they consider the frontrunner.

Blake Shelton said he regrets everyone that he has to send home.

"I don't want to send anybody home," Shelton told reporters, including Headlines & Global News. "You never feel good about that and it sucks. Anyone of the two that I had to send home were as good as anybody in the competition, it's just the sucky part of the show."

Adam Levine then joked, "That's not what you said to me backstage. You said you like sending people home and wished you could do more of it."

Shelton quickly shot back, "I said I don't have any regrets regarding the people that you sent home."

Levine also expressed his regret for having to send people home, calling it the "crappy part" of his coaching job.

"You kind of feel bad because it's totally my fault and you're trying to make him feel better and they hate me no matter what I'm saying," the Maroon 5 frontman said.

Christina Aguilera chose to call the elimination process "the sucky part" of what they have to do, especially when it comes to actually saying goodbye to the competitors face-to-face.

"Of course it's really sad," Aguilera said. "You feel so awkward when you get to go up there and give the final goodbye hug after you've sent them home. But I'm confident with my decisions."

All four coaches, which also includes Pharrell Williams, usually disagree on most everything when it comes to their opposing teams, but this season, they agree the Top 12 has one serious contender for the frontrunner spot - Sawyer Fredericks.

While extremely proud of her own team's achievements, Aguilera admits her love for the 16-year-old performer, who's a part of Team Pharrell.

"I've been very open about the fact that I've been a huge fan of Sawyer's since day one. He's a front runner outside of my team."

That prediction weighs heavy on the shoulders of the young Fredericks.

"It definitely puts more pressure on me," he told Headlines & Global News exclusively. "I don't like to think about it. I'd rather focus on my performance and just sing my song, but it's an amazing compliment, so it does make me feel good."

"The Voice" airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
