An elderly couple was killed Sunday night when their 1923 Model T Ford skidded off a Pennsylvania road and crashed down an embankment, police said.

Ralph Cramer, 70, and his wife C. Lynn Cramer, 59, left a cafe and were headed home at around 9 p.m. when their vehicle swerved left, flipped over and landed in a ditch, Chief Joseph C. Stauffer of Manheim Borough police told Lancaster Online.

The couple was found dead when first responders arrived at the scene in Rapho Township. The Lancaster County Coroner said they suffered multiple traumatic injuries.

The Ford, which was found upside down, was taken to an impound to be inspected.

"The Model T was a rebuild that is properly registered," Stauffer told Lancaster Online. "There are no indicators of what caused the accident yet."

It's also unclear who was driving or if the Cramers were wearing seat belts.

Ralph Cramer and his son operated a dried and fresh flower business in the Mount Joy area called Cramer's Posie Patch, which was featured in a 2000 issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine.

Peggy Forney, one of Ralph Cramer's first employees, said he was now semi-retired and spent time restoring antique cars, including the Model T Ford.

"He loved playing with his cars and his grandchildren," she told Lancaster Online. "Family was really important to him."
