Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys have not been shy about making bold moves in the draft in recent years. Morris Claiborne, Dez Bryant, etc. Jones is so afraid of missing out on the next potential super star that he jumps at the chance to draft highly touted prospects. With a litany of defensive needs, will he do so again in the upcoming NFL Draft?

It's a question posed to ESPN Cowboys reporter Todd Archer in his weekly mailbag.

"I don't see it," Archer answered. "If you look at the names of the players they brought in at defensive end, the only possible trade-up would be Bud Dupree, and I'm not sure how far they would have to go up to get him. They would have to give up too much to move way up, and they need the picks to get players. I don't see defensive tackle in play in the early rounds. I think you could seem them go defensive end in the first or second rounds and maybe again late. I usually say never say never when it comes to Jerry Jones on draft day, but I'm fairly confident they won't move way up to get an elite pass rusher. Maybe they would move up four or five spots if a guy drops, but even that is dicey."

The Cowboys added Greg Hardy at defensive end this offseason but it is unknown how many games he might play with a suspension likely looming. It seems more realistic that Dallas would target defensive backs in the first round. They have recently been linked to Wake Forest's Kevin Johnson and UCONN's Byron Jones.
