Several media outlets incorrectly identified the woman attending a "Justice for Trayvon Martin" rally in Houston, Tex. as a pro-George Zimmerman counter-protester, when in fact she was rallying was an anti-Zimmerman protester who held her salacious sign ironically, Breitbart News reports.

The story that the woman holding the "We're racist and proud" sign was pro-Zimmerman soon took off, resulting in an elaborate media mix-up. An interview with Breitbart News held at the rally clears up the confusion, as it turns out she was merely using sarcasm to prove her point.

"This sign means that there are people here who are racist and apparently think that's OK. I'm not one of them. I'm being sarcastic," the woman responded when Breitbart asked her what the sign meant. A fellow anti-Zimmerman protester backed her up, adding, "Yo. What she said."

The woman was at the Houston rally to support the New Black Panther and Trayvon Martin march, and is a very leftist activist from Austin, Tex. According to Gateway Pundit, the woman may have been a leftist plant to attract media attention and shed negative light on anti-Zimmerman protesters.

During the Houston rally, protesters and counter-protesters had to be held back by police officers from getting close to one another, separated by a large street and instructed by officials to stay on their respective sidewalk.
