Niall Horan will put in some hard labor on Wednesday when he lugs around Rory McIlroy's golf bag at The Masters.

The One Direction singer will caddy for his fellow Irishman and the No. 1 ranked player at the Masters Par 3 Contest on April 8, according to ESPN.

"He's been excited to come here," McIlroy told ESPN. "He's never been to the Masters. I caught up with him in Australia at the end of last year and he was really excited, and I said, 'If you're available Wednesday afternoon and you want to carry the bag for nine holes, you're more than welcome.'"

The 25-year-old golfer added, "He's excited to be here and [I'm] looking forward to spending a bit of time with him out there tomorrow."

Horan has also played golf since he was 12 years old. The 21-year-old was made an honorary lifetime member of his hometown Mullingar Golf Club last December, according to the Irish Mirror. He and McIlroy reminisced about playing on the course when they played a round in Australia.

"We were joking as to who could hit a shot over the big trees on the tenth hole," Horan told members of the club, according to Irish Mirror. "He was picking out trees on the tenth that he likes to play over and I was thinking to myself, 'Holy God, this is a good golf club.'"

McIlroy will compete for the coveted green jacket at this weekend's Masters tournament at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
