A rescued pit bull returned the favor to his forever family when he rescued them from their house when it caught fire in January.

Lou the pit bull noticed that his family's home caught fire at 4:30 one morning and frantically barked to wake his human up.

Parents Chris Julian and Kelly Yarbrough were home with two of their four children at the time of the fire. They told Fox 13 that the only thing that woke them was Lou's bark.

"The fire was coming through the door and the dog saved our lives, and if it wasn't for him we'd all be dead right now," Yarbrough told Fox 13.
