A sweet dachshund puppy with special needs, who was having trouble finding a forever family that would look past her disability, was finally adopted.

Billie, the dachshund's mom, was rescued from a Westminster, Mass. puppy mill when she was pregnant. The mother, among 71 other dogs, was rescued from the mill in January by the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA).

When Billie was born at MSPCA, she was diagnosed with a spinal malformation, which makes it hard to use her back legs. This made her "less adoptable," and she had to watch her two other siblings find forever homes while she was stuck hobbling around the humane society facility, according to a MSPCA news release

"She gets around perfectly well by 'bunny hopping' here and there," Alyssa Krieger, the Boston-based adoption center manager, said in the release.

The brave puppy never gave up hope, and she was finally adopted by an amazing family that was willing to give her the love and support she deserves.

Billie now lives with  another Dachshund named Maxwell and a Rat Terrier named Stanley, Mass Live reported
