April 14 is going to be an important day for residents of Bakersfield, Calif. They will be paying attention to the sky to see if a growing trend continues.

On Feb. 14 and March 14, residents of the city say there was a mysterious blue light in the sky, which may be a UFO, according to ABC's Bakersfield affiliate.

"I was taking the recycling out to the trash can, and I saw this blue light in the sky, and I thought, that's kinda bright to be a star, I've never seen a blue star be that bright," Kelly Castruita told ABC. "It looked way too high up in the sky to be a drone."

Castruita's husband added that he watched it turn on and off for 10 minutes doing "weird stuff."

Another resident of the city, Randy Gabriel, has "never seen anything like it."

"It pretty much flew, stopped, then started doing some upward motion and downward motion, so I've never seen anything like it," he said.

ABC investigated further and brought video footage of the unexplained events to Senior Deputy Victor Keesey of the Kern County Sheriff's Department. Kessey said the department did not receive any calls regarding the mysterious light but admitted it was odd.

"Very seldom, if ever, have I seen anything like it," he said.

Officials at nearby Edwards Air Force Base told ABC "It could be a possible aurora in the sky or possible testing from Vandenberg."
