It's no secret that Adrian Peterson has zero desire to return to the Minnesota Vikings next season. Whether that amounts to anything other than a continually protracted media tantrum on Peterson's part, remains to be seen.

Still, Peterson's desires are well-known and there is surely no shortage of NFL franchises willing to pony up a fair amount of compensation to bring the future Hall of Fame running back to their roster.

According to a report from Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, should Peterson in fact be shopped by the Vikings, his "dream scenario" would be to wind up a member of the Dallas Cowboys, though Cole names the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts as potential landing spots as well.

The Cowboys, per an earlier HNGN report, may be "all in" on acquiring Peterson, thus the general feel of many of their moves this offseason - restructuring quarterback Tony Romo, letting DeMarco Murray walk, signing Greg Hardy to a one-year, prove it deal.

Peterson is slated to meet with the league on Tuesday this week to discuss his potential reinstatement and removal from the Commissioner's Exempt list, according to a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

"Now, the question is, on April 15, that's the date that he can be reinstated to the league," said Cole. "On Peterson's side the belief among sources close to him is that he's going to be ultimately reinstated, that he has followed protocol, he's followed procedure and despite a pending lawsuit out there that he is going to be reinstated and that will pave the way for a trade which Adrian Peterson wants."

Having clarity on the 30-year-old Peterson's status will certainly help make things easier for the Vikings as they determine his future and the future of their franchise.

Peterson is still under contract with Minnesota for three more seasons and is slated to make $12.75 million in base salary and count $15.4 million against the cap for the 2015 season.
