"Empire" could get a little scandalous.

Latin Times reported that former "Scandal" star Columbus Short could be joining the cast of Fox's hit drama "Empire" when it returns for its upcoming second season. Before you jump for joy, Short revealed that nothing is official - but fans should look out for his comeback.

"Big things are happening," the 32-year-old actor said in a recent Access Hollywood Live interview (via E! Online). "I'm going to be bridging my music career with my acting career." 

"I'm just saying it wouldn't be a shock," he added.

Fox has not announced a formal return date for season two of "Empire."

Short played Harrison Wright alongside Kerry Washington on "Scandal" but was fired after a string of legal troubles, including battery and domestic abuse, were made public.

While promoting his latest movie, "The Girl Is in Trouble," Short told "Access Hollywood" that he hasn't been watching "Scandal" since his character was killed off, but he does miss being on the show and would "1,000 percent" rejoin the show if he was asked.

"I won't lie. I do miss it. I miss it a lot," he said, before adding, "It's like breaking up with your girlfriend...It's like, 'Oh, man, lets just hook up a couple of more times.'" 

 "The Girl Is in Trouble" is out in select theaters and VOD April 3. In movie was produced by Spike Lee and co-stars Wilmer Valderrama and shows Short playing an aspiring DJ that enters the drug underworld after the murder of a friend.
