The New York Jets aren't dying for a wide receiver after their trade for Brandon Marshall. But that doesn't mean they wouldn't take one.

"Source: Former Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper is visiting the Jets today..." Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News tweeted.

Cooper would join Marshall and Eric Decker in what would suddenly be a very dangerous wide receiving corps. However, the Jets are expected to target a pass-rusher with their first round pick, perhaps even Nebraska's Randy Gregory. New York has even been mentioned as one of the many candidates who may attempt to trade up and snag Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Still, even if it is a bit of an unrealistic luxury pick, it's fun to think what Cooper could bring to the Jets' lackluster passing offense.

"The combine and pro days have been great and the season was a clinic," ESPN NFL Draft Insider Mel Kiper Jr. said of Cooper in his latest Big Board. "The speed questions have been answered (he always played fast) and there's nothing Cooper doesn't do really well. He often separates with ease, beating the press, setting defenders up, and hitting a second gear with ease - and he has a good sense of how to find space against a zone and will make contested catches. His work rate is legendary. If I'm drafting there's no way he escapes the top five."

That last part is what may irk some Jets fans hoping to add Cooper. New York currently holds the sixth overall pick. Both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders have been linked to Cooper at one time or another. It would be a surprise if Cooper lasted past both teams. But if New York is intent on adding a wide receiver, West Virginia's Kevin White is another enticing prospect at the position.

The NFL Draft will kick off on April 30.
