Best Buy has announced discounts on select models of 13.3-inch MacBook Pro for up to $200 for all customers and an additional $100 for students by signing up for college student deals.

Best Buy has announced special student discounts on laptops during the annual back-to-school shopping season. The retailer has slashed the prices of two 13.3-inch MacBook Pro models by $200, with an additional discount of $100 for students with .edu email addresses registering for College Student Deals. The special offer lasts through July 27.

The $200 discount is available for all Best Buy customers willing to purchase the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro directly. The offer is available online and in any Best Buy store. The MacBook Pro with 4GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive is available for $1,000, down from $1,200. The higher model with 8GB of memory and a 750GB hard drive is priced at $1,300, down from 1,500. Both the models run on Mac OS X Mountain Lion with Intel HD 4000 graphics, a 1,280-by-800 display. The 4GB MacBook Pro packs 2.5-GHz Intel Core i5 processor, while the higher model comes with 2.9-GHz Intel Core i7 processor. Registered students will get an additional discount, slashing the price of 4GB variant to $900 and the 8GB model down to $1,200.

The promotional offers for students are not limited to MacBook Pro, but also extend to other electronic goods in the store. Best Buy has dropped the prices of all iMacs by $100 and the MacBook Air also sees attractive discounts. The 11-inch model with 128GB is priced at $949 for all customers and students get an additional $100. Similarly, the 256GB variant of the Air costs $1,039.99 for students.

Additionally, students can avail free Microsoft Office 365 University and 16GB flash drive with the purchase of any Windows 8 Touch PC. Best Buy also offers $100 discount on HP Pavilion 500 desktop tower and other offers on speakers, headphones, wireless mouse and more.
