After a long time coming, and years of getting tonsilitis, Demi Lovato is finally undergoing surgery today to have her large tonsils removed, and the "Heart Attack" singer recently shared a video on her Keek of herself before the nerve-wracking procedure.

"I'm on my way to get my tonsils out," Lovato, dressed down but still looking pretty in a pair of glasses, no make-up and a Los Angeles baseball cap worn backwards, says in the new video while on her way to the hospital. "This sucks! But it's really pretty outside," she adds, showing fans a shot of L.A. from her car window.

"Wish me luck!," she says, throwing up a peace sign. "I'm out."

The star announced she was getting her tonsils removed on the U.K. "Chatty Man" talk show with Alan Carr last month.

"I've been meaning to get them out for years and years, but my career has just been going, going, going," she told Carr. "The thing is, I keep getting sick. Like once a month I get really sick. They're actually not doing me any good, so they're being removed."

After years of waiting, the singer is finally going in for surgery, and though she's ready to stop getting sick so often, she admits that the whole experience is pretty "nerve-wracking."

"[I'm having them out] in like a week and a half, so...I'm nervous!," she told MSN recently. "The whole thing is just really nerve-wracking for me. I have a lot of people around me and it's just your tonsils, it's not anything serious. But, anybody that has to have surgery, regardless of how little or small, it doesn't sound fun."

Fans of the star wished her luck and told her they loved her, hoping for the best outcome possibly post-surgery. Lovato recently tweeted a humurous screenshot of her listening to Taylor Swift's hit song, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," informing the world via Twitter: "This is my last day before my tonsils and I part ways. I dedicate this song to those little suckers."

As for how she'll handle the pain post-surgery, the star has elected to handle it "without painkillers," as she said to a crowd during an MTV special. "I'm a boss. I say that now!," she admitted jokingly. Lovato will of course undergo surgery with anesthesia, but the star who has been to rehab and struggles from a number of addictions, having been sober for over a year, likely wants to forgo anything that will interefere with her on-going recovery.

Although the procedure will be done in her throat, Lovato has said she doesn't think it will affect her prized vocal chords. After the surgery is finished, she'll be taking off the rest of the summer before the premiere of season 3 of the U.S. "The X-Factor," where she'll star as a judge and mentor alongside Simon Cowell, Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio this fall.

Lovato's tonsil surgery is one of the reasons she hasn't gone on an official summer tour following the release of her fourth studio album, "Demi."
