Iris the chimpanzee's story will never make you question love at first sight again.

Iris spent three years alone in a concrete cell at the Chestatee Wildlife Preserve and Zoo in Georgia with nothing to stimulate her brain.

She was later rescued by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), which changed her life forever.

PETA had Iris sent to the Save The Chimps sanctuary in Florida where she met the love of her life, Abdul.

In normal cases it takes chimps months of rehabilitation before being introduced to other chimps. Iris, however, was really eager to meet her neighbor (Abdul) so they let her skip the lengthy process.

Almost instantly after meeting Abdul she planted a big kiss on his lips! Abdul responded by grooming her, which in chimp language means they're a couple now.
