Fox has renewed its second comedy series for the 2015-2016 season.

Zooey Deschanel and the "New Girl" cast will return for a fifth season. The show also will celebrate its 100th episode next fall.

"Four seasons in, 'New Girl' continues to be one of the smartest and most relatable comedies on television,' said David Madden, entertainment president for Fox Broadcasting Company. "The writing is razor-sharp, the ensemble is consistently hilarious, and we couldn't be more proud of Liz, Brett, Dave and the entire 'New Girl' team. We absolutely love this show and we're so excited to bring it back for Season Five."

"New Girl" has already started shooting the beginning of season five to accommodate Deschanel's maternity leave. The Fox comedy will not incorporate her pregnancy into the show, though.

John Cho will guest-star as a guy that Jess meets when she reports to jury duty. The "Star Trek" actor may stick around for more than one episode, according to TVLine.

Fox previously gave renewal orders for "Bob's Burgers," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "Empire," and "Gotham."

"New Girl" airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Fox.
