The "Arrow"-"Flash" spinoff series has added two new characters from the DC universe to join the upcoming CW show.

Ciara Renée will play Kendra Saunders, a.k.a. Hawkgirl, a young woman who has recently learned that she has repeatedly reincarnated over the centuries, according to Deadline. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests and she sprouts wings from her back, hence the name Hawkgirl.

The CW superhero spinoff also cast Arthur Darvill in the role as Rip Hunter, a roguish time traveler who hides the strains of being responsible for history itself behind a facade of charm and wit, according to The Wrap.

Both actors will star alongside recurring fan favorites from "Arrow" and "The Flash," including Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer, a.k.a. Atom, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory, a.k.a. Heat Wave, and Victor Garber as Firestorm.

The show also will feature Caity Lotz, whose character is yet to be determined. Her "Arrow" character, Sara Lance, was killed off and her sister, Laural Lance (Katie Cassidy), took over as the alter ego, Black Canary.

The new DC-based show will add three characters from the comic book world never before seen on TV. Hawkgirl is not one of them since the character appeared in an episode of the WB/CW series, "Smallville."

The untitled "Arrow"-"Flash" spinoff will likely premiere at midseason during the 2015-2016 TV season on The CW.
