Rawley Bingham, 23, from Denver, was hanging out at a bar on March 21 at 2 a.m. when someone stole her iPhone. She had no idea who the thief was at that time, but she eventually found out after the thief's selfies started flooding her Facebook page two days later.

It turned out that the owner's iPhone has an app that automatically uploads pictures to her Facebook. Police now have a clear idea now of what the thief looks like, and so does social media as her selfies have gone viral. The owner had 13 selfies of the woman who took her phone.

"It actually becomes a lot more plausible for me to get it back when she starts posting selfies," Bingham told USA Today.

Bingham recognized the thief as the girl who approached her and got oddly close.

"She leaned in to say something into my ear. Things were loud, and I felt a tug on my purse," Bingham said.

The thief was not only using the iPhone to take her selfies, but was also responding to Facebook messages of the owner's friends.

Denver police was able to talk to the thief, who went by the name "Lil Momma" and promised to return the iPhone but didn't show up. The Metro Denver Crime Stoppers also offered a $2,000 reward for any information about the thief, Fox17 reported.

The mother of the thief, who saw her daughter taking selfies using the stolen iPhone, spoke with 9NEWS and said she will return the stolen iPhone to Denver Police on Friday morning.

The real name of the iPhone thief has been kept confidential because she is still a minor. Bingham, on the other hand, has not mentioned yet if she plans to press charges against Lil Momma.
