No. 2 Gonzaga  earned its fifth straight win and a spot in the Sweet 16 after defeating Iowa on Sunday, 87-68.  Equally as important, the win on Sunday snapped Gonzaga's five-year run of losing in the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament, according to ESPN.

"There's no greater feeling than this, because I haven't been able to experience it, and most of the guys in the locker room haven't," said senior guard Kevin Pangos, via ESPN. "So for us to be able to get past this is definitely a great feeling. But it's not like we were stressing over what people were talking about. We just wanted to do it selfishly for ourselves and our fan base."

Pangos scored 16 points, and junior forward Kyle Wiltjer led the team with 24 points to go along with seven rebounds.  For coach Gary Bell Sr., it was a relief to see one of his teams finally make it over the hurdle of the tournament's weekend.

"It is kind of a weight off because a lot of people doubted us to even get to the 16 this year and we have a great team," he said.

No. 11 UCLA, meanwhile, advanced to the Sweet 16 on the back of a 92-75 win Saturday against UAB.  Junior forward Tony Parker dominated at both ends of the court, leading the team in both scoring and rebounding with 28 points and 12 rebounds, while sophomore guard Isaac Hamilton played facilitator and finished with 13 points and a team-high seven assists.
