Miles Teller recently starred in the Oscar-nominated "Whiplash" and currently appears in "Insurgent," the second movie from the successful "Divergent" franchise. So why hasn't he paid off the student loans that he racked up while attending the Tisch School of Arts at New York University?

"My business manager says the interest is so low, there's no sense in paying them off," Teller told Vulture. "I can, if I want to have that badge of accomplishment, but until then I still very much have my NYU loans."

Nearly 70 percent of college graduates in 2013 left school with an average of $28,400 in student loan debt, up 2 percent from 2012, according to a 2014 report from the Institute for College Access and Success.

In its first weekend, "The Divergent Series: Insurgent" grossed $52,263,680 at the box office. Some of that should help Teller with his monthly payment schedule.

Teller will next star as the World Champion Box Vinny Pazienza in the biopic "Bleed for This." He also plays Reed Richards a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic in the "Fantastic Four" reboot, which premieres Aug. 7.
