A stray cat trapped behind a wall in a Cario subway station for five years was finally brought to safety by the persistence of animal rights activists and his human friend Uncle Abdo.

The cat found this hiding spot in 2010 and wouldn't come back out. A man only identified as Uncle Abdo named the cat Biso and fed him through a tiny hole in the wall so he wouldn't die in his hiding spot, reported The Cario Post

As much as Uncle Abdo wanted to just break down the wall to save Biso, he couldn't because he would be charged with sabotaging public property.

Finally, a picture of Biso's tail dangling out of the wall surfaced on an animal rights Facebook page. This photo helped activists get permission from police to save Biso from the wall, reported The Cario Post.

Biso was eventually rescued when a man identified as Amr went inside the hole.
"When we removed the wall, a heinous smell emerged from the dark hole, which was 15-centimeter wide and four-meter long. It was like a tomb. There were black worms along four meters of the edge, where Uncle Abdo was able to put in food for Biso," Mounira Shehata, an animal rights activist who participated in the rescue, told The Cairo Post.
Biso would have died in the wall if it weren't for Uncle Abdo's food and water delivered daily, but Uncle Abdo isn't calling himself a hero.
"I do it for God. What is for God does not go away," Uncle Abdo told The Cario Post. He added that "God rids" him a lot of his problems because of acts of charity such as this.
