A grateful magpie bird always visits the Bloom family in Australia who saved her life.

Photographer Cameron Bloom and his son, Noah, rescued the magpie bird nearly a year-and-a-half ago when the bird fell out of a tree, reported ABC News. The bird, who they later named Penguin, was found immobile on the ground.

"She was so small, and though we weren't sure if her wing was injured, it was clear she was very weak and couldn't fly," Bloom told ABC News. "We got a lot of tips from a friend of mine who's a vet, and he explained to us how to take care of her."

Although Penguin is able to fly again, she can't forget the humans who helped her regain the ability to soar in the air.
She thanks her new human family by making frequent visits to their home. She can even be found singing a "beautiful greeting song" when Bloom's children come home from school or when the family pulls into the driveway.
"She's definitely family," Bloom told ABC News, "and our kids' best friend."
Bloom documents Penguin's visits with his family on a special Instagram page dedicated to her.
