Battery life is what keeps our digital lives running. Without a battery, none of our mobile devices would be able to operate. But one tech company is trying to build the next big battery.

Tech startup Sakti3 just signed a joint development agreement with Home Appliance Provider Dyson. According to the MIT Technology Review, Dyson hopes to incorporate their reportedly revolutionary batteries into future devices. Dyson also invested $15 million into Sakti3, which should make their development process a lot easier. However, Dyson has not announced what devices the Sakti3 batteries will go into, or when they will be installed.

Sakti3 is in the process of developing a solid state battery that will reportedly have a longer battery life than anything a smartphone has now. According to The Technology Review, "Sakti3 uses new materials and manufacturing techniques to achieve higher energy density. The company's battery does away with the flammable liquid electrolyte used in conventional lithium-ion batteries, which makes it feasible to use a different set of high-energy storage materials."

Dyson founder and chief engineer James Dyson told The Technology Review he believed that "Sakti3 has achieved leaps in performance which current battery technology simply can't."

Sakti3 certainly isn't the first company to try to use experimental methods to create stronger batteries. Other companies have had amazing battery results but weren't able to translate them into practical batteries. However, the fact that Dyson believes the company's batteries are worth investing in seems to be evidence that Sakti3 is on to something.
