"Suicide Squad" is steadily holding the eager anticipation of fans as it will be the first big budget blockbuster to examine how the other half lives. Movie goers have been treated to superhero team ups before. Now, they're getting a super villain (and anti-hero) team up. Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deathstroke (rumored to be Joe Manganiello), Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) and a new Joker (Jared Leto) will all be part of the fun in DC Comics/Warner Bros.' ever expanding Cinematic Universe. And now, fans may also catch a glimpse of the Dark Knight (Ben Affleck).

Warning: The following is a possible spoiler for 2016's "Suicide Squad."

Umberto Gonzalez of Latino Review reveals details about Batman's role in "Suicide Squad."

"According to sources, in the film Batman is some sort of big boogeyman that the government REALLY hates," Gonzalez wrote in an Instagram post. "Get this, prior to the events in #BatmanvSuperman, THE JOKER is the only one to really ever meet him or know him and that's why he's so important to Amanda Waller. They have footage of Batman in action which they watch. There is a bit of dialogue where they say Batman is the key to tracking down all 'the supers.'"

This description would fall in line with previous rumors regarding Batman's role in the DCCU. What fans have been hearing for some time now is that Affleck's Batman will be an older, more grizzled superhero who has been semi-retired for some time. If this sounds familiar to comic book fans it's because it is inspired by Frank Miller's famous "Dark Knight Returns" storyline. This would also confirm rumors that Affleck's role in "Suicide Squad" is just a brief cameo appearance.

Revealing himself would be a major plot point for Affleck's Batman in the upcoming "Batman V Superman" as it could lead to Waller's obsession with him in "Suicide Squad" and other films down the line. Based on these reports, it sounds as if each DC film will build on one another instead of waiting for the eventual Justice League films to connect. Batman's presence sounds like a common link throughout.

Again, these rumors are all unconfirmed. But if true, they hint at a much more interwoven movie-verse than initially thought.
