When a Canadian traveler visiting Thailand first laid her eyes on Leo the dog she couldn't help but rescue him.

Megan Penman took Leo - who was paralyzed when she found him - to a vet and later home with her to Canada, according to a fundraiser post she wrote on YouCaring.com.

Through generous strangers, Penman was able to raise enough money to get Leo the medical care he needed. Today - eight months after she found him - he looks like an entirely different dog.

Leo is living a healthy life now and can move around with the help of a special wheelchair.

Penman is happy to see her new friend improve so much in such little time. She has been keeping Leo's followers updated about his condition on a Facebook page
