NetherRealm Entertainment's fighting games have become well known for their choice of guest characters and gruesome gameplay. Those two things make their next guest character perfect for an appearance in the "Mortal Kombat" series.

NetherRealm released a trailer on Friday revealing that Jason Voorhees of the "Friday the 13th" horror film series would be available to play in "Mortal Kombat X," the next installment in the popular fighting series. However, Voorhees won't be available on the game at first. The serial killer of Camp Crystal Lake will be packaged in a four-character DLC that will include two "Klassic Kombat characters" and another special guest character who hasn't been announced. The DLC will be available on the day of launch.

If Players want access to Voorhees, they can purchase the "Mortal Kombat X Kombat Pack" for $29.99, or buy a "Mortal Kombat X Kollector's Edition," which comes with the "Kombat Kit" built in. The "Kombat Pack" also gives players access to the Samurai Pack, which will provide three new character skins: Ronin Kenshi, Samurai Shinnok and Jingu Kitana.

Comingsoon.net describes "Mortal Kombat X" as the "next highly-anticipated installment in its legendary, critically-acclaimed fighting game franchise that propels the iconic franchise into a new generation. The game combines cinematic presentation with all new gameplay to deliver the most brutal Kombat experience ever, offering a new fully-connected experience that launches players into a persistent online contest where every fight matters in a global battle for supremacy."

"Mortal Kombat X" will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on April 14.
