Univision host Rodner Figueroa was fired Wednesday after insulting First Lady Michelle Obama during a live segment of the popular TV show "El Gordo Y la Flaca."

Figueroa's comment came when he was discussing artist Paolo Ballesteros' ability to transform himself into female celebrities using makeup. The viral photos have been circulating social media and his latest representation was Kendall Jenner on March 12, as seen on his Instagram account.

When a picture of Michelle Obama came up on the screen, Figueroa insulted her appearance and said, "Mind you, you know that Michelle Obama looks like she's part of the cast of 'Planet of the Apes,' the film."

Host Raúl de Molina tried to eliminate the negative attention by complimenting Michelle Obama and saying that he thought she was very attractive, HuffPost reported. The racist remark was aired live during the East Coast showing, but was later edited before being shown on the West Coast.

"Yesterday during our entertainment program 'El Gordo y La Flaca' Rodner Figueroa made comments regarding First Lady Michelle Obama that were completely reprehensible and in no way reflect Univision's values or views," Univision said in a statement. "As a result, Mr. Figueroa was immediately terminated."

Univision - the largest Spanish broadcaster in the U.S. - reaches nearly 94 million homes and is the fifth largest television network, according to CNN.

Figueroa's Twitter account hasn't seen any action since Wednesday before he was let go and Univision reportedly removed his photos from the show's website.
