The United States Men's National Team (USMNT) faces Cuba in its second Group C match of the Gold Cup.  USA has tallied 12 goals in its last two outings, MLSsoccer.com reports.  The team dealt a 6-0 loss to Guatemala in an international friendly last week, and defeated Belize on Tuesday, 6-1.

USA players not only have the opportunity to win the Gold Cup trophy, but also the chance to prove to manager Jurgen Klinsmann that they deserve a spot on the rosters for the upcoming qualifiers and World Cup.

Landon Donovan made his return to the USMNT last week after nearly a yearlong hiatus.  He's making a strong case for a spot at the next year's World Cup — he had two goals in the friendly against Guatemala and one goal in USA's win over Belize.

The USA is also enjoying a fantastic performance from Chris Wondolowski, who scored one goal against Guatemala and two against Belize.

Cuba, meanwhile, remains the heavy underdog after suffering a 3-0 loss to Costa Rica in Tuesday's opening match.  Cuba's best chance is to advance to the next round by clinching a third-place berth.  Ariel Martinez is Cuba's best hope to overcome the USA's defense.

USA has won all of the teams' last three meetings.

Costa Rica is the next challenge for the USMNT — the match begins at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 16.
