LeSean McCoy out, DeMarco Murray in?

Mere moments after finalizing the trade of the 2013-14 NFL season's leading rusher, McCoy, to the Buffalo Bills, it was reported that the Philadelphia Eagles are showing interest in the 2014-15 rushing title winner, Murray.

Adam Caplan of ESPN, via Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com, revealed that there is "mutual interest" between the Eagles and Chip Kelly and Murray.

"DeMarco Murray took note that Sam Bradford is headed to the #Eagles. They ran the same offense in college. #Eagles in the mix," Ian Rapoport of NFL.com tweeted shortly thereafter.

Murray had voiced a desire to return to the Cowboys and Dallas brass had done the same, but it seems Murray, who it was reported would give the Cowboys a small discount if the numbers were similar elsewhere, may be headed for Kelly Green(er) pastures.

Murray, 27, finished last season with the most yards (1,845) and carries (392) in the NFL. He also added 57 receptions for 416 yards.

He's the epitome of the all-purpose back, but Murray's got a lot of miles on his body already and has a fairly lengthy injury history.

He made just $1.4 million last year under the final year of his rookie contract and is looking to cash in on what is reportedly expected to be a "vigorous" NFL free agency market.

The Cowboys don't seem to have much leverage with Murray as the only other backs currently on their roster with NFL experience are Lance Dunbar and Joseph Randle.

Still, it seems Murray could find a better payday and healthier situation elsewhere.

In Philly, he'd be part of a backfield with the electric, but diminutive Darren Sproles and the bruising Chris Polk. He's the type of one cut-and-go runner preferred by Kelly for his inside/outside zone blocking scheme.

Murray's workload would immediately lessen with Sproles and Polk already in the fold and, ostensibly, allow him to prolong his NFL career.

If the contract sought by Murray isn't too exorbitant, it could be a good fit for all sides.
