The St. Louis Rams reportedly are the frontrunners for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles.  The Rams, who're in competition with the Tennessee Titans and the Houston Texans, upped their initial trade offer for Foles and are now the leading contenders for the signal caller, according to Denver-based radio host Benjamin Allbright.

After Eagles coach Chip Kelly reportedly gauged the value of Foles during the Senior Bowl in January, a report Monday from NJ.com indicated St. Louis, Tennessee and Houston were interested in Foles.  Now, according to Allbright, there's a frontrunner.

"Several teams in talks with Eagles about Foles, (Rams) are considered 'leading contender' per source," Allbright tweeted Monday afternoon.  "... Can confirm (Rams) have 'upped their offer' for Foles from what they floated in January, do not know specific of that offer or current one."

Greg Arias, a radio host based in Tennessee, confirmed St. Louis appears to be the most likely team to land Foles.

"Being told by league source that while Titans are in on trade talks with Philly for Foles, Rams are more likely to make the deal right now," he tweeted Monday.

Kelly's decision Sunday to re-sign backup Mark Sanchez to a two-year deal reportedly worth $16 million seemingly made Foles, who's in the final year of his contract, more expendable.  As for St. Louis, coach Jeff Fisher could be ready to move on from Sam Bradford.  Although Fisher has said Bradford would be the team's starter in 2015, there's been speculation  the injury-prone quarterback could be on the move before next season.  A report from Yahoo Sports in February indicated St. Louis had discussions with the Buffalo Bills about Bradford, who's due $12.9 million this coming season.
