When an elephant and her trainer were reunited after being apart for 15 years, it was like no time had passed.

Charlie Franks, an 80-year-old retired elephant trainer, donated his elephant, Nita, to the San Diego Wild Animal Park when he ended his career. He went back to the park 15 years later on a day when he was especially missing his old friend, who clearly missed him too.

"As a rule [elephants are] a friend for life if you take care of them and take care of that friendship," Franks said. "She remembers me. If she didn't, she wouldn't work for someone she didn't know or anything like that. If you go out there and try and work with her she wouldn't do anything for ya."
