Tampa Bay Rays' starting pitcher, Alex Cobb, officially adopted the stray dog he found last week during Spring Training last week in Port Charlotte, Fla.

Cobb found the tiny pup when he left practice at Charlotte Sports Park last Monday (March 2). He saw the dog walking dangerously close to a busy road, so he chased the dog by foot and eventually caught the little guy, reported MLB.

Although the dog had no collar or distinct features, Cobb and the Rays community outreach team set out to find the dog's human.

Since no one is coming forward to claim the dog, Cobb decided that he is going to adopt the pup who he named Oscar.

After Cobb found Oscar he brought him home to take care of "temporarily" until he was reunited with his owner, reported MLB. Instead, Oscar's own dog, Axel the American bulldog, took a special liking to his new canine friend, as well as the rest of the family.
