Stana Katic left "Castle" fans in a cold sweat on Sunday night with a tweet that suggests a possible end to the ABC show.

Katic, who plays Det. Kate Beckett, responded to 10 fan questions before heading to bed. One of the questions asked about her thoughts on the upcoming "series finale" rather than the "season finale."

She replied, "Proud of all we've accomplished. Grateful 4 being part of the ride."

A rep for ABC told Headlines & Global News that Katic's tweet was "just a mistweet."

The 36-year-old actress has starred on "Castle" for all seven seasons. She and her co-star Nathan Fillion, who plays Richard Castle, will see their contracts expire at the end of this season. Neither actor has announced signing on for an eighth season.

ABC also hasn't announced a renewal decision on "Castle" or any of its other programs. If Fillion and Katic extend their contracts, the show is likely to be picked up, according to TV By The Numbers.
